DFE Abstract
Murtaza spent ten weeks in the summer of 2015 as an intern at Kentucky Center for Restorative Justice in Lexington, Kentucky. Kentucky Center for Restorative Justice provides leadership, education, training, investigation, and justice support to promote the principles, practices, implementation, and sustainability of restorative justice throughout Kentucky. As an Economics major, Murtaza gained experience identifying the harm in and taking steps towards repairing and involving the different stakeholders. Under the supervision of Diana Queen, the President, Murtaza gained hands on experience looking into some cases and work on the center’s ongoing projects with stakeholders. Murtaza’s primary supervisor was Dr. Peter Hackbert and Jason Cohetan was his secondary supervisor. During Murtaza’s presentation, he will share his learning and growth experience related to the EPG abilities that he acquired at Kentucky Center for Restorative Justice.
