DFE Abstract

Kheri spent ten weeks in the summer of 2015 as an intern at Women’s Housing and Economic Development in Bronx, NY. Women’s Housing and Economic Development is a community development organization founded on the radically simple idea that all people deserve healthy, vibrant communities. As a Business Administration major, Kheri gained experience supporting efforts to revitalize underserved but fast-growing and culturally rich South Bronx neighborhoods through community engagement, economic development and the arts. Under the supervision of Kerry McLean, this internship allowed Kheri to receive hands on experience with event planning to improve her ability to manage projects under pressure with professionalism. Kheri’s primary supervisor was Dr. Billy Wooten and Dr. Peter Hackbert was her secondary supervisor. During Kheri’s presentation, she will share her learning and growth experience related to the EPG abilities that she acquired at Women’s Housing and Economic Development.
