DFE Abstract

In the summer of 2019, Rofy Okyere-Forson worked for ten weeks as a technology analyst at Morgan Stanley. As a member of the team in charge of wealth management, Rofy was tasked with various duties that mainly centered on creating unique offerings for wealth management clients, helping customer service, ensuring smoother operations across the firm. He also helped predict likely outcomes in the functioning of the firm based on data collected using artificial intelligence (AI). Rofy was managed by Vish Male and was under the mentorship of Emmerson Zhaime who both helped him to be able to apply the EPG abilities, both directly and indirectly at the firm. Rofy had Dr. Jan Pearce as his primary advisor with Dr. David Guggenheim being his secondary advisor. Rofy’s experiences from the summer allowed him to engage with the complexity and uncertainty that come from working with AI technology, explore values and ethical structures at a top banking firm, facilitate group decisions using the conductor talent, recognize opportunities to establish entrepreneurial connections, mobilize the needed resources for the aforementioned connections and most importantly use the opportunity to advocate change.
