DFE Abstract

Moriah Wilbur spent nine weeks learning and investing in The Mission Dance Academy in Berea, KY. She used her time there to observe and build experience teaching and working in the field of health and human performance. The Mission Dance Academy is a Christian, non-profit dance studio that offers performing-arts classes at low monthly rates in order to ensure that every child who wants to dance has the chance to do so. Moriah worked to expand her abilities as a future Physical Educator at The Mission Dance Academy by creating and teaching a rhythmic gymnastics program. She also worked to gain knowledge about studio management, organization, development, programing, and marketing. Her primary advisors were Professors Stephanie Woodie and Nashwa Cahill, and Dr. Peter Hackbert was her secondary advisor.
