Mackenzie spent ten weeks in the summer of 2015 as an intern at LVL1 Hackerspace in Louisville, Kentucky. As an Engineering Science major, Mackenzie gained experience increasing LVL 1’s local membership by 10% in makerspace through media usage/internal company adjustments. Under the supervision of Daniel Johnsen, Mackenzie received hands on experience using tools such as laser, 3d printers, soldering/electronics, prototyping including arduinos & raspberry pis, woodworking & metal shop. Mackenzie’s primary supervisor was Troy Messina and Dr. Peter Hackbert was his secondary supervisor. During Mackenzie’s presentation, he will share his learning and growth experience related to the EPG abilities that he acquired at LVL 1 Hackerspace.
