DFE Abstract

During the summer of 2020, Yryskeldi Emilbek uulu spent 10 weeks as the Direct Marketing Intern at Greenpeace USA, an advocacy group with 40 million members globally. Yryskeldi believes in the power of uncovering ethical structures built on the values of environmentalism and peace, and at Greenpeace, Yryskeldi harnessed critical soft and hard skills to foster these values among government officials and business leaders. Yryskeldi worked with prominent figures in the industry to prepare business intelligence reports for executive managers, steward a portfolio of 900,000 lower-level and mid-level donors, and develop email campaigns averaging 600k a month. Dr. Ian Norris, Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration and Economics, and Dr. Peter Hackbert, Director of the EPG Program, have both facilitated this internship as Yryskeldi’s primary and secondary advisors.
