DFE Abstract
Bedjinal Gondre spent nine weeks working as a corporate accounting intern at Dickinson Fleet Services, one of the top leading companies in the transportation industry in the United States. Even when everything was shutting down as a result of COVID-19, Bedjinal decided to follow through with the internship process to get everything ready just in case the opportunity came. Embracing uncertainty is one of the key abilities taught in the Entrepreneurship for the Public Good program. Dickinson Fleet Services has customers all over the United States, and Bedjinal was at their corporate office located in Indianapolis. Throughout the internship, Bedjinal was motivated to learn accounting skills and acquire knowledge on the tax laws in the United States. His assignment was to ensure that the company complied with laws by updating their tax status. Bedjinal was also responsible to contact the customers in forecast problems that needed evidence that a customer can be considered tax exempt. Furthermore, he worked on updating their tax system to store information in a more efficient way. While completing his internship, Bedjinal spent time participating in the Investment and Derivative program by Ivyline Capital Group. Bedjinal plans on finishing the investment program while finding new opportunities to grow as a person, and as a professional.
