DFE Abstract

During Angie’s direct field experience over ten weeks in the summer of 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky she interned at Able Engine, a web design, mobile and web application development firm. While working with the development team and staff, Angie used her prior content management knowledge and expanded her understanding of web development and its necessary computer programming skills. She also enhanced her ability to work in a team environment, perform projects independently. Angie completed client requests, used content management systems, complied website development software, and became familiar with business functions within the company. Angie’s Able Engine supervisor was Graham Wheeler, the principal and lead developer. Dr. Jan Pearce served as her primary faculty sponsor and Dr. Peter Hackbert served as her secondary sponsor. Angie Li is a junior Computer Science major hailing from Decatur, Alabama.
